The movement of Dr. Jacquet

What is a facial without a good massage? Lucky for us estheticians, we don't need to be massage therapists to give professionally good, relaxing facial massages. From the movements of effleurage to petrissage, friction, tapotement, to vibration, there was one doctor got a whole name of her own, called the Dr. Jacquet movement.

Do you have oily, or acne-blemished skin? Well, this technique is especially for you. She was a famous dermatologist from Europe who introduced this massage method for those skin types. The Dr. Jacquet movement is performed by gathering a small section of the skin between the thumb and forefinger, squeezing gently. At the same time, give the skin a slight twisting or kneading movement. This helps empty the oil ducts, keeps the sebum moving forward and out of the follicles. If you're doing it too hard you're probably just trying to pop your pimples. Relax and leave it to us!
